Everest family from Sandakphu
As the first sunlight strikes, tourists will see the dazzling peaks of the Everest family in Nepal at the far west including the gorgeous Mt. Everest (29,029 ft., the highest peak in the world). It is about 160kms away from Sandakphu. Tourist will find it along with other peaks like Lhotse (27940 ft., the fourth highest peak) and Mt. Makalu (27,825 ft, the fifth highest peak). If Tourist look further west, they will see the Chamlang (24,006 ft) that stands like a square wall of snow.

Tumling
This is a small Nepal village. Tonglu is famous for the view of the snow-capped peaks of the Singalila and the Kanchenjunga range. Tumling on the other hand is a salubrious night halt with assorted lodges dotting its sedate green environs. The lights of the towns of Darjeeling, Kurseong, Pasupati (Nepal), Siliguri and other settlements can be viewed on a clear night.

From Kolkata, a number of trains and buses are there in order to reach New Jalpaiguri. From New Jalpaiguri a hired car to Maneybhanjan can be availed. It is advisable to book a car in advance, especially in the peak tourist season, if there is a plan to drive to Dhotre or Maneybhanjan from New Jalpaiguri. From Manebhanjan, Tumling can be reached by means of the old Landrover, the only available means of transportation.

Chitrey
Chitre, 1.5 hours trek Chitre is a small village about 3 kms from Manebhanjan located at an altitude of 8,340 ft. The route up to Chitre passes through pine, fir, birch forests and bamboo glades. This part of the trek route is quite steep and really warms you up.

Tonglu
Tonglu (3036 m) is the one of the higher peaks of the Singalila Ridge and a small settlement inside the Singalila National Park in the Darjeeling subdivision, Darjeeling district in the state of West Bengal in India near the India - Nepal border. It is a roadside halt along the trekking route from Manebhanjan to Sandakphu.

Sandakphu
Sandakphu is the highest peak in the state of West Bengal, India. It is the highest point of the Singalila Ridge in Darjeeling district on the West Bengal-Nepal border. Sandakphu, situated at a height of 3636 mtrs above sea level, might not be famous for any tourist destinations, but is a true paradise for all adventure lovers. Trek to the highest point on this hill station and you will get the never seen before views of the Himalayan Range. A long stretch of Himalayas starting from Bhutan till Mt. Everest is visible. River Teesta flows through Sandakphu at quite a pace. The thundering River Teesta also offers a great option for adventure sports especially river rafting. Sandakphu is the only place in the world where you will find a rhododendron and silver fir forests. To reach Sandakphu, one has to nearly trek for 12 hrs from Maneybhanjan, which is the gateway to Sandakphu.

Phalut
Phalut is the second highest peak of West Bengal. It is located inside the Singalila National Park, which is near the West Bengal Sikkim Nepal border. A small bunkhouse of the Indian Army can be found on the peak. The indigenous tribes that live near Falut are called Falutians. They have worshipped the peak as a god for more than 300 years. They refer to the peak as "Omna Re Ay".

Phalut is further 21kms from Sandakphu. Manebhanjan is the base of Singalila range where the trek actually begins for Sandakphu and then onward to Phalut.

The distance of Phalut from Manebhanjan is 53kms. It takes 3 to 4 days to reach Phalut from Manebhanjan. There are both GTA (Gorkhaland Territorial Administration, erstwhile DGHC) lodges and private trekkers huts on the way for night stays. 

Kanchenjunga from Sandakphu
Other peaks close to Kanchenjunga include Kabru (24,026 ft), Kumbhakarna (25,294 ft.) and Pandim (22,010 ft). Between Everest and Kanchenjunga you will see the peaks of Three Sisters. East of Kanchenjunga, you will see the great Tibetan peaks of Narsing, Dongkya and Chola. And then you can spot Chamolhari in Bhutan.
