The Myanmar (Burma) Buddhist Temple is located on 10A, Eden Hospital Road, next to the horse mounted statue of Rana Pratap, just off the Central Avenue. The two boards on the no descriptive three storied building are the only evidence of the Myanmar (Burma) Buddhist Temple in Kolkata (Calcutta). The Myanmar (Burma) Buddhist Temple of Kolkata (Calcutta) was established in 1928 by U San Min. It was called the Burma Buddhist Dharmasala which later came to be known as the Myanmar Buddhist Temple. Today the shrine is located on the top floor of the three storied building.

Garia Buddha Temple is consider as a one of the best beautiful Temple in Kolkata. It was established in the year 1976 at Milan Park, Garia in around 7 Katha land. Garia Buddha Temple is famous for its peaceful ambiance & Buddha Statue donated by Buddha Dharma Foundation of Thailand. Well decorated spacious Auditorium & Old Temple adjacent to new Temple is also other specialty. It is the main Buddha Temple for around 500 Buddhist families of Garia & southern part of Kolkata.

New Garia and Baghajatin railway stations on the Sealdah South section of the Kolkata Suburban Railway. Surface transport routes and many private bus routes ply from Garia to many important destinations via E.M. Tharpa Choling Monastery
Tibetan refugee self-help centre was established on 1st October 1959 to rehabilitate displaced Tibetians who had followed His Holiness, The Dalai Lama to India in early 1959. This centre produces excellent carpets, woollen goods, wood work, leather work etc. The Tibetan craftsmen can be seen at work at the centre.

Bokra Ngedon Chokhor Ling Monastery
Bokar Ngedon Chokhor Ling Monastery is located at the highest point of Mirik at an altitude of 5,800 ft. From the lake if look towards south east, then visitors can see this lovely monastery high up on the hills. Tourists can imagine how wonderful the view of the lake and its surrounding area would be when they look down below from the monastery.

The Bokar Ngedon Chokhor Ling Monastery is one of the prominent Buddhist centres in the region. The monastery is home to around 500 monks who participate in practicing and sustaining the teachings of Shakyamuni Buddha. It also serves as a school teaching the principles of Buddhism. The monastery has a monastic college named Shedra.
Kyabje Bokar Rinpoche established the monastery in 1984 as a retreat centre. On the request of disciples and natives, Rinpoche began accepting monks for training and the centre was transformed into a monastery. The activities of the monastery are under the control of Kyabje Bokar Khenchen Donyo Rinpoche.
Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri both railway stations are nearest station of Mirik.

Dali Monastery
A Drukpa Kagyud Monastery belonging to the Kagyupa Order of Tibetan Buddhism is the Dali Monastery at Dali - on the route between Ghoom and Darjeeling at an altitude of 7000 ft above sea level. The Dali Gompa is perched atop a hillock between Darjeeling Railway Station and Ghoom Railway Station and is just 5 kms south of Darjeeling City. Dali Gompa was built by Kyabje Thuksey Rimpoche in 1971. This Monastery is the largest in the area - in terms of headcount of resident Monks. 210 Tibetan Buddhists of the Drukchen sect stay at the Dali Gompa.

Nearest airport is Bagdogra. New Jalpaiguri railway station is the nearest station of Darjeeling. Ghoom station is nearest place of Dali Monastery which is connected by Toy train. Buses are also available from Siliguri Tenzing Norgay bus terminus and Kolkata Esplanade bus terminus to Darjeeling.

Ghoom Monastery
Ghoom Monastery is the popular name of the Yiga Choeling Monastery located at Ghoom at an elevation of 7,000 feet, 8 km from Darjeeling. The monastery belongs to the Gelukpa or the Yellow Hat sect and is famous for its 15 feet high special statue of the Maitreya Buddha.

Fom Ghoom, it takes about 20-25 minutes by a vehicle to reach Darjeeling town centre or the main market area. Ghoom is a junction point of many roads that lead to different destinations. Hill Cart Road that connects Darjeeling passes through Ghoom and all the way down to Siliguri. Nearest railway station is New Jalpaiguri which is well connected by Sealdah and Kolkata station.

Salugara Monastery
This beautiful Monastery was built by Kalu Rimpoche, a Tibetian Lama. Tashi Gomang Stupa is situated nearly 6 kms from Siliguri in West Bengal. It includes a one hundred foot stupa. It contains five types of relics, and is maintained by the Drodon Kunchab Chodey Buddhist Association. This stupa is considered sacred for the five types of Buddha relics.

Tamang Monastery
Tamang Monastery (Tashi Samten Ling Monastery - Tamang Gumba) is located in Mirik, equidistant from Siliguri and Darjeeling. The intricate art works on the inside and the outside walls of the monastery are eye catching. Hence, Tamang Monastery is a hotspot for spiritual seekers, students of Buddhism and travellers. Summer is the best time to visit Monastery. The view of the majestic snow-capped 'Kanchenjunga' is especially beautiful from the Monastery. Nearby Sumendu Lake is a manmade lake 1.25 kms long famous for boating and fishing. For Visitors to the Monastery accommodation is available near the Sumendu Lake. Local modes of transport like cabs and horses are available for travelling to the Tamang Monastery. Peace Pagoda, Himalayan Rail, Mt. Kanchenjunga and passenger ropeway are some other nearby attractions.

Maha Bodhi Society
The Maha Bodhi Society is a South Asian Buddhist society founded by the Sri Lankan Buddhist leader Anagarika Dharmapala and the British journalist and poet Sir Edwin Arnold. The organization's self-stated initial efforts were for the resuscitation of Buddhism in India, and restoring the ancient Buddhist shrines at Bodh Gaya, Sarnath and Kushinara.
In 1891, while on pilgrimage to the recently restored Mahabodhi Temple at Bodh Gaya, the location where Siddhartha Gautama (the Buddha) attained enlightenment, Anagarika Dharmapala had experienced a shock to find the temple in the hands of a Saivite priest.

Hsuan Tsang Chinese Buddhist Temple
The Hsuan Tsang Chinese Buddhist Temple (Monastery) in Paschim Chowbaga (Tiljala) Kolkata is located on the outskirts of the city. Founded by Chien Wu in 1968 it also serves as a lama training centre. An apartment block has come up straight in front of the pagoda style gate of the Hsuan Tsang Monastery, which blocked the flow of energy. So a Feng – Sui expert from Hong Kong, who visited the monastery, decided to block the main entrance and create a temporary entrance to the Hsuan Tsang Monastery.

Located in Paschim Chowbaga of the Tiljala region the Monastery is best approached from the Ruby Hospital on the Eastern Metropolitan Bypass. Regular auto services are available from Ruby. Alternatively to get down at the Paschim Chowbaga bus stop on the Science City Basanti highway, cross a rickty wooden bridge over a canal and walk for 15 minutes to reach the Hsaun Tsang Monastery, locally called the China Mandir.
